In Maharashtra, there has been good news for cinema watchers within multiplexes. Following the direction of the Bombay High Court, the Maharashtra government has now allowed to take food and drink items inside the cinema hall. From August 1 next, the film will be able to take a dinner for movie-watching inside a movie theater. Not only this, the prices of food products sold outside of cinema halls will also be lower.
The Maharashtra government has said that a meeting with multiplex owners will be done on this issue and the price of goods sold within multiplexes will equal the market sentiment. Earlier, the Bombay High Court directed the Maharashtra government to consider allowing him to take food and drink items outside the cinema hall and allow it.
Judge RM Barde and Rajesh Khetar had given this order on Janhit Bakhshi's public interest petition, which was parivar lawyer Aditya Pratap. It was said in the petition that there can not be any privacy or law prohibiting taking food and drinking items out of the theaters. Advocate Pratap said that under the Maharashtra Cinema (Regulation) Rules, it is forbidden to sell food within the theaters and Auditorio and go to the viewers to sell it, but this is happening.
